Foster a Pet!

Foster homes are the foundation of the S.P.O.T. pet rescue organization, offering vital support for dogs and cats in need. Pets reside in foster homes until they can be matched with permanent, loving families. While requirements for fostering cats and dogs may vary, the central responsibility remains the same: providing a safe, nurturing environment where each animal can thrive until adoption.

The primary objective of a foster home is to help prepare a rescue pet for their new home. This may include basic training, exercising, socialization, and/or administering prescribed health care. S.P.O.T. will train and mentor new fosters regarding the organization’s animal welfare expectations and guidelines for fostering.

S.P.O.T. provides pet care supplies (food, litter, bedding, crates, toys, etc.), veterinary care, and overall support for the organization’s approved fosters. All pet care supplies and services are purchased by the organization.

S.P.O.T. is seeking compassionate individuals who are available, eager to learn, and committed to the mission of finding safe, loving homes for displaced and vulnerable cats and dogs. Many fosters discover that caring for a rescued pet is a uniquely rewarding experience—one that leaves a lasting impact on both the animal and the caregiver.
