S.P.O.T. is dedicated to alleviating suffering, curbing the spread of communicable feline diseases, and stabilizing feral cat colonies through our Trap-Neuter-Return (T-N-R) program.

For centuries, unowned and feral domestic cats have adapted to living alongside humans, forming communities in urban and rural environments alike. Historically, efforts to eliminate so-called nuisance cat populations have proven ineffective, as new groups inevitably move in to fill the void.

By implementing T-N-R—trapping, neutering, and returning cats to their original locations—we foster healthier colonies and create a more balanced population. This approach also minimizes the influx of new cats seeking territory within established colonies, ultimately improving the quality of life for both the cats and the surrounding community.

For more explicit information about T-N-R effects and practices, see the articles below.
